I've been helping my friend with makeup for a wedding and realized how much of a "product junkie" I've unknowingly become. I usually don't wear much makeup and prefer sleep over slathering on products. But out of the joy of trying new brands, comparing the quality, and getting lost in colors and pretty packaging, I recently found myself at Sephora listening to a makeup consultant label me a fellow "product junkie". Granted, I've received much of the products as samples, gifts, or gifts with purchase so they haven't been too damaging to my wallet (yet)!
With that said, here are my recent basic favorites: 1. Muji cotton pads: A great alternative to rough, synthetic cotton balls or other cotton pads that fall apart during use. 2. Nature Republic's Super Aqua Max Combination Watery Cream: Recently purchased after reading reviews on a few beauty blogs. Although not as luxurious as some other moisturizers I've tried, this moisturizer has a cool, refreshing feel and light scent. At less than half the cost of most skincare brands, I'm quite happy with the quality. Great purchase. 3. Origins United State Balancing tonic: I haven't been impressed with most of Origins products I've used but keep coming back because of its ingredients are nature based. This toner is definitely more gentle to my skin yet still picks up any traces of makeup left from cleansing. 4. Dior Diorsnow: I've tried various brands for face sunscreen and this, by far, is the best. The consistency is smooth, not greasy or sticky. Plus, it keeps the face matte throughout the day.
There you have it, a first makeup monday post. Hope you found it helpful!
