Ai Weiwei

Work of Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei. He has been detained by Chinese police without official charges, his studio sealed off, and his assistants interrogated; possibly consequences of his criticism of China's government corruptions and scandals. His Sunflower seed exhibition at Tate Modern's turbine Hall consisted of 100 million porcelain sunflower seeds weighing 150 tons. He was commissioned as design consultant for the Beijing National Stadium hosting '08 Olympics. Provocative, relevant work impacting politics and culture through creativity.
