Cover to Cover

Some direct mail I toss, some I browse then toss, but Anthropologie catalogues I keep. I love the creative photos and unique copy describing each item. I look forward to getting the catalogues, almost as much as a subscribed magazine.

Painting with Envelopes

Shona Macdonald's envelope art pieces are amazingly intricate: slender strips of envelope pieces cut and glued to "paint" the canvas with waves, lines, and compact forms.

Seen closely, the words on the collaged strips seem to follow a theme: financial terms, etc.

I'm wondering how she collected such variety of colors and words on envelopes. And how long it takes her to glue them all!

Beyond Sushi

If you're in NYC and craving Japanese food but want something more than sushi, visit Sake Bar Hagi.

On a side street from the bright lights and noise of Times Square nearby, the sake bar and dining is worth the wait. Satisfying variety and prices, a definite recommendation.
Thanks S. for the intro!
