Went to the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum but half of it was closed for installation due in March. Conveniently, across the street was The Jewish Museum. There, I discovered the art of William Steig, the original creator of Shrek!
Steig was a cartoonist for the New Yorker, children's book writer, and artist. His "Small Fry" series are amusing. Great variety in exhibitions-from modern to ancient. Worth visiting, for kids or kids at heart. Exhibition until 3/16/08. Free admission Sat.s. Check their website for info.
